The UNC Computer Science Club puts together regular meetings and fun social events for majors, minors, and anyone else interested in cs. We also host guest speakers and facilitate the job search in partnership with career services and the CS department. We meet during the regular semester Thursdays from 7PM to 8PM in Fred Brooks 007.
The Hackerspace / Computer Science Club Room is a room for socializing, studying, and is intended to provide a physical place for members to colaborate and grow our CS community. If you want keycard access, read below, but also feel free to drop in anytime! Give the door a knock - there are almost always people there to let you in. We'd love to meet you :)
Sitterson Room 027 requires keycard access, which you can get by filling out the form at the link below. Please note that submitting the form implies agreement to the hackerspace guidlines detailed here. We process requests manually once a week or so.
The Hackerspace has a wealth of hardware components that are avaiable for loan or use within the room. We have Raspberry Pis, Arduinos, sensor kits, and lots of old junk electronics to tinker with. We even built a quadcopter in 2014. If you are interested in any hardware, come by the hackerspace or email Brandon Davis (firstname.lastname@example.org).
